What does this test do?

This test panel screens for the presence of five different sexually transmitted infections, and includes:

Gonorrhea & Chlamydia – determines the presence of organisms that cause chlamydia and gonorrhea in the urine.

Hepatitis C – detects antibodies to Hepatitis C virus, which may indicate a current or previous infection.

HIV – detects the presence of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) circulating in the bloodstream.

Herpes Simplex Virus – used to differentiate between Herpes Type 1 and Type 2 infections.

Syphilis – used to screen for syphilis, and to monitor the course of treatment.
